With the arrival of the Early Morning Duty Teacher, on the playground, the school doors open at 8:45am.

On arrival, children go straight to their classrooms with registration at 8.55am doors are closed and locked promptly. Any ‘late arrivals’ are required to access the school by the main front doors.

We request that to encourage independence we ask that parents do not enter the classrooms allowing children to settle into their daily routines.

Morning teaching is from 8:55-12:00, with morning break at 10:30-10.45am for KS1, and 10:45-11:00am for KS2. This is followed by lunchtime 12:00-1:00pm for KS1 and 12:30-1:20pm for KS2.

Afternoon teaching ends at 3:15pm.

For the younger children, there is a much more flexible day and this may include an afternoon play which is celebrated as a crucial aspect of children’s development as they use the outside areas continually as part of their learning.

Days and times of early morning and after school extended school activities, including lunchtimes vary termly, so please refer to our newsletter and Parents’ Notice board for further details.

Pupils and parents also have daily access to the Big Breakfast Club and North Down Kidz After School Club. Again please refer to the school website for further details and/or make contact through the school office.
