St George’s Mission Statement

Our aim is to value each pupil as an individual and to ensure that he or she develops his or her own personal talents, skills and potential to the fullest possible extent.

The School will:-

  • Encourage the child to do their best at all times.
  • Encourage the child to take care of his/her surroundings and others around them.
  • Inform parents of the child’s progress at regular Parent Evenings or Parent Afternoons.
  • Inform Parents about what the teachers aim to teach the child each term.
  • Provide regular Homework opportunities suitable for the child’s age range.
  • If there is a problem, invite the Parent(s) into school to discuss it.
  • Do all in its power to ensure that the child has a safe and secure environment in which to work and play.

The Family will:-

  • Encourage the child to do their best at all times.
  • Encourage the child to take care of their surroundings and others around them.
  • Make sure the child arrives at school on time (8.45–8.55 am) and collect the child punctually.
  • Make sure the child attends regularly and provide a note of explanation if a child is absent.
  • Attend Open Evenings/Afternoons to discuss the child’s progress.
  • Support the School’s Homework Policy.
  • If there is a problem concerning their child, come to the School to discuss the matter.
  • Try to ensure that family holidays are not taken during term time.
  • Realising the importance of a safe and secure environment for the child, not drive cars onto the school grounds, unless it is a medical emergency.

The Pupil will keep the school rules:-

  • I will listen carefully and try to do as I am told the first time.
  • I will respect other people and their belongings.
  • I will move safely and sensibly around the school.
  • I will keep to the playground rules.
  • I will keep to the lunchtime rules.

Together we will:-

  • Tackle any additional educational needs.
  • Encourage the child to keep the School’s Rules.
  • Support the child’s learning to help him/her achieve their best.
